Nicholas Tavoukjian, MS, ATC, CSCS, TSAC-F

Founder &

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Tavoukjian is a Certified Athletic Trainer with a passion for service, education, and pushing the limits of the field of sports medicine.  Mr. Tavoukjian founded the Armenian American Sports Medicine Coalition in 2017 after several sports medicine and rehabilitation educational outreach trips to Armenia.  He recognized a need for improving sports medicine education and curriculum in Armenia, as well as a need to advocate for improved sports medicine practices and coverage within our own Armenian-American community.  Each year, Mr. Tavoukjian leads a multidisciplinary team of AASMC volunteer sports medicine and rehabilitation clinicians to provide a sports medicine continuing education lecture series in Yerevan and clinical instruction to sports medicine and rehabilitation professionals providing care to Armenia’s wounded soldiers, pediatric and special needs populations, adaptive athletes, the Armenian National Team, and the Armenian National Paralympic Team.

Mr. Tavoukjian hopes that his work inspires Armenian-American youth to follow their passions, trust in God, and strive to share their talents by serving their community at home and abroad.  His dream is to help develop sports medicine programs in Armenian-American schools to ensure the health and safety of youth athletes and to assist Armenian-American youth interested in sports medicine and athletic performance fields to network, find opportunities, and develop a strong educational foundation to facilitate their future success.

Mr. Tavoukjian is currently a PhD student at Azusa Pacific University, studying Rehabilitation & Movement Science.  He graduated from APU with a Master of Science Degree in Athletic Training in 2017, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International and Middle East Studies from the University of California, Irvine, in 2011.
